Take the stairs

Many people take the easy way out whether it means taking the escalator, elevator or driving across the street instead of walking.  This isn’t part of the fit formula, you know…As a fit person, I m the complete oppositve of this.  Despite the fact that I am a very active gal, I always find ways of being even more active every day.  Why?  Because the more fit you are, the more your body craves movement and the stronger you’ll be.

Many people are far from this feeling.  But, the more you reinforce it by consciously choosing to move more, the quicker it’ll become your habit.  Habits take weeks of consistent behaviors before they become engrained in your psyche.  If you wish to break your chains from overweight behaviors, then you must find the key ingredients to doing that.  You must first want it. Once you want it, you must do it.  Do it every day. Do it because your inner drive is based on a grander goal-a healthier you!  Goals don’t get reached in a week or two.  It takes months and perhaps years to achieve the goals you set forth for your fitness.  But, after one month of following the principles set forth in Breaking the Chains of Obesity, 107 Tools, you will have a clearer understanding on how to get there.

It’s certainly easier to adhere to excellent habits once you begin surrounding yourself with healthy people.  This is why hanging out with my girl Hedda from G-Loves reinforces my way of life.  Her and I are always looking to spread the love of excellent health to others whom we know and love.  We went to see Magic Mike (hysterical by the way!) this weekend at the Third Street Promenade, and the bathroom was downstairs.  You see that stairwell in back of us?  We jammed up that mountain of stairs twice.  Big deal to most, but to us, cake!  And, I’m not talking about the kind of cake you used to have for dessert.  Cake is in-no problem..Why?  Because our cardiorespiratory engines can handle it.  Yours will in time if it can’t today.  Start with intervals.  By that, I mean, take one flight of stairs, then stop for 10 seconds, catch your breath, then on to the next, rest 10 and then to the top!  Keep doing this and in time, you will be a stair climbing star.  My girl Hedda even brought her usual gallon of water with her.  Water, my friends, not soda!

It’s up to you to move more each day.  It’s a catch 22 because if you’re tired, you may be too tired to climb, but every time you do it, you gain energy.  This is what I mean when I say get over your sedentary hump.  You can do it and I am here to support you!  Check out our stairclimbing experience..My girl Hedda is a rockstar!
