Plank Variations

As if it isn’t already hard enough to plank, might there be a variation or 5 to planking? Yes there are. When we train, we must consider our programming our platform to building up courage to doing something grater than what we know. Planking is considered an isometric move to which you hold all your muscles in one position and breathe. Yes, this is real tough to do. But very good for concentration, posture, and muscle endurance. The main compartments to squeeze are your glutes, quads and belly muscles. When you do this together, you keep your hips and spine neutral and your core muscles tight. When you don’t, you sag at your hips and start to put strain on the lower back and hips. So get that down pat first. A basic plank. And once you’ve mastered your basic plank, then rock the following 5 progressions!!!!
